I hate that so many people think they’re not “smart enough” to understand science. In my daily conversations and official presentations, I work hard to make the world of science accessible to others through careful storytelling, analogies, and vivid graphics.
Writing is my favorite form of communication. I enjoy using my skills to edit essays, particularly admissions essays and masters/doctoral theses, for friends, family, and students across the world.
I enjoy serving as a board member of professional organizations to enhance the academic and social experiences of my peers. Since 2012, I have been a board member of different societies, including AIChE, SWE, and AVS.
Giving back to the community is extremely important to me. I have volunteered with Northwestern Science Policy Outreach Taskforce’s Science with Seniors program and mentored high school students in STEM classes at Niles West High School.
